Keeping up with PHNIX in 2023 Intersolar Europe Expo

At a glance

The most significant solar industry exhibition in the world, Intersolar Europe 2023, is approaching. Manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, service providers, project planners, and developers from all over the globe gather in Munich under the slogan "Connecting solar business" to exchange ideas over the newest advancements and trends, experience innovations firsthand. In keeping with market trends, PHNIX will highlight its cutting-edge PV-coupling solutions and heat pump products at B5.540 from 14-16 June.

Photovoltaic(PV) and heat pump from a global viewpoint

To cope with climate and energy challenge, countries around the world signed the Paris Agreement under the framework of the United Nations, aiming at reducing emissions by 45% by 2030 and reach net zero by 2050. The European Union introduced 鈥淔it for 55鈥 package, aiming at delivering the European Green Deal, has promoted ambitious climate protection targets to be set: Greenhouse gas emissions are to be reduced by 55% compared to 1990 levels by 2030. All signs are pointing in the right direction: renewable-energy-oriented transition.  The PV boom has been ongoing for years and its coupling solution is also gaining momentum, such as the combination of PV and heat pump, representitives in the sustainable energy field.

The 2022 EU Market Outlook report from SolarPower Europe revealed that the European market had grown by 47% compared to the previous year, with 41.4 GW of newly installed capacity in 2022. The report also indicated that the total installed PV-capacity in Europe had increased to 208.9 GW in 2022, up from 167.5 GW in 2021. For another, the European market for heat pumps achieved a new milestone in 2022 according to preliminary data, with approximately 3 million units sold. The European Heat Pump Association's statistics for 2022 reveal a growth rate of nearly 38%, which is higher than the previous year's remarkable increase of 34% in annual sales.

Generally speaking, 2022 has witnessed the prosperity of PV and heat pump, the reasons for which are self-evident. Both of them are great options for low carbon energy solution. However, since heat pumps require electricity to operate, it is highly recommended to pair them with solar panels to achieve Net-Zero. This will allow for maximum utilization of energy sources that are available in an almost limitless supply.

Spot excellences at PHNIX on the site

PHNIX will present its comprehensive green energy solution for home, which is a combination of its state-of-the-art heat pump technology and PV system, aiming to maximize the efficiency of energy management for every houses. The control logic is to use this coupling system to control the heat pump frequency & target temperature according to the electricity output. Therefore, it helps to save energy and bills as much as possible.

In fact, a series of measures are stipulated in the EU F-gas Regulation F-gas, whose objective is to protect the environment by reducing emissions of fluorinated greenhouse gases. According to this regulation, from January 1, 2020, the GWP value of the refrigerant for the newly installed air source heat pump shall not exceed 750. From January 1, 2025, this requirement will be more stringent, being reduced to 150.

As one of the leaders in the heat pump industry, PHNIX offers a wide portfolio using R290 refrigerant, such as domestic heating&cooling+DHW, residential hot water, commercial HVAC and swimming pool heat pump, and PHNIX will continue to do so. On the show, visitors can take a closer look at its innovative heat pumps that are capable of connecting with the PV system.
